Goodness. A wristwatch that monitors “your loved one” and sends you an email or an SMS if there are worrying changes in his or her heart rate, activity levels, stress or emotions (including agitation, relaxation and worry). Huh. Some days I think I’d sort of like one of these, and a reliable computer to send me soothing messages if my stats dipped.

Having recently read Stephen Johnson’s fascinating book about how they figured out how cholera spread a century and a half ago (maps were crucial!), this citzen-designed use of google maps to show who is sick, with which symptoms (running nose, sore stomach, etc), and where.
