One of the pieces I enjoyed seeing at Incubation was Jim Andrew‘s doodle-like morhping of a phone message left by Alan Sondheim for Randy Adams. Alan can’t log on to a site they’re using, and the desperation in his voice is familiar yet upset by the way Jim’s chopped it up. Randy’s journal for October 2003 calls this an example of sick language.

Do people flock to talks about ChatGPT because they are scared?

Whenever I give talks about ChatGPT and LLMs, whether to ninth graders, businesses or journalists, I meet people who are hungry for information, who really want to understand this new technology.
