“claims to be the first service to allow not only text and images but also video”

    That’s quite a claim. 🙂

I’ll use the opportunity to promote one of my favourite bloggers, Mie Kennedy. I haven’t seen video in her current http://www.kokochi.com/ yet, but there used to be video at http://tokyotidbits.com/

Oh, I think they meant the first service to allow users to easily upload video from a mobile phone – I agree, it’s quite a claim, but perhaps in this limited sense they’re right? It’s obvious that there’s been video in blogs before.

    Hi Jill,
I agree, it is quite a claim, and we’re pretty baffled that we were first, since the technology is very simple. I believe it is only a matter of time before we see a load of other moblog services offer this too.
If you want a look at a video post, you can have a peek at my partner in crime, Tony, introduce the new video capabilities 😉 http://www.albinogorilla.dk/test/447

    Cheers,

Four visual registers for imaginaries of machine vision

I’m thrilled to announce another publication from our European Research Council (ERC)-funded research project on Machine Vision: Gabriele de Setaand Anya Shchetvina‘s paper analysing how Chinese AI companies visually present machine vision technologies. They find that the Chinese machine vision imaginary is global, blue and competitive.  De Seta, Gabriele, and Anya Shchetvina. “Imagining Machine […]

Do people flock to talks about ChatGPT because they are scared?

Whenever I give talks about ChatGPT and LLMs, whether to ninth graders, businesses or journalists, I meet people who are hungry for information, who really want to understand this new technology. I’ve interpreted this as interest and a need to understand – but yesterday, Eirik Solheim said that every time […]
