Bergeners: have you been to Oslo lately and seen the huge advertisements placed on footpaths and on bus shelters? Bergen council’s planning to sell our city to Clear Channel, the advertiser, media owner, abuser of workers’ rights and bully of the music industry, just the way Oslo has sold itself. Please sign the petition begging the city to leave us advertisement-free! Oh, and go read the campaign blog fighting the ads: Byen vÂr, our city. There’s also a website with a lot of reasons why selling our space to an American media conglomorate is not a great idea. (Via Ragnfrid)

    Psst. It’s Ragnfrid.

Four visual registers for imaginaries of machine vision

Whenever I give talks about ChatGPT and LLMs, whether to ninth graders, businesses or journalists, I meet people who are hungry for information, who really want to understand this new technology. I’ve interpreted this as interest and a need to understand – but yesterday, Eirik Solheim said that every time […]
